Ledbury Tennis Club is inviting local children to a free taster tennis session.

On Friday, April 17, children who have not previously attended a junior tennis programme event are welcome to try their hand at the sport.

The taster sessions will run for an hour, starting with children aged four to eight at 4pm.

Children aged eight to 10 can play at 5pm, and 11 to 16-year-olds at 6pm.

Rackets and balls will be provided, and children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Following the taster event, the full junior after-school summer coaching programme will run for 11 weeks until Friday, July 3, in association with qualified and accredited coaches from Malvern Tennis Academy.

For adults looking to get back into tennis, the club also offers "Rusty Rackets" sessions which resume on Wednesday, April 15 from 5.30pm to 6.45pm.

Non-members are welcome at £3 per visit, with balls provided and guest rackets available.

The club also operates a thriving Walking Tennis group at 2pm every Thursday, costing £3 for non-members.

The not-for-profit club currently fields 12 competitive teams in the local Hereford & Worcester leagues. For more information, look for Ledbury Tennis Club on the LTA website.
