Ledbury Town 4 Goodrich 3.

GHANAIAN striker Isaac Shaze helped lowly Ledbury to an important win in a seven-goal thriller in the FTL Futbol West Midlands League Premier Division.

The former Forest Green Rovers trialist marked his Ledbury debut with the club’s third goal against Goodrich at New Street.

Hartpury College student Shaze was joined in the Ledbury side by fellow Ghanaian Samuel Mensah, another Hartpury student.

Dorian Colling opened the scoring for Ledbury and a Duncan Preedy free-kick put the hosts 2-0 ahead.

Captain Preedy was in outstanding form and gave a man-of-the-match display at the heart of the Ledbury defence.

Goodrich reduced the deficit on the stroke of half-time and then drew level early in the second period.

Centre-forward Shaze restored Ledbury’s advantage and then Luke Kavanaugh put the home side 4-2 in front.

Goodrich set up an exciting finish with a third goal but Ledbury held firm to extend their unbeaten league run to four matches.

Ledbury manager Ben Symons praised the efforts from midfielder Mensah, Pete Boyle and goalkeeper Clinton Thick who made some vital saves.

Town remain one place off the foot of the table.
