LEDBURY RFC will travel away to face Hereford in their first game of 2025.
Coming off the back of their recent victory in the third annual Cotton Cup Contest, Ledbury will return to league action on Saturday, January 4, against Hereford.
In the Cotton Cup, the side won 10-0 in less than ideal conditions. Battling through the mud and the fog, a pair of tries were enough to see the side over the line to claim victory in front of over 500 spectators.
On the day, £1085 was also raised for St Michael's Hospice and Cancer UK.
The side have not competed in league action since before Christmas, when they saw off the challenge from Edwardians to walk away as narrow 13-8 victors.
An impressive victory that sends a statement to the rest of the league, as they defeated one of the top sides in the division in their last league fixture of 2024.
They will be hoping to continue their winning form in 2025 and move up the league table in the second half of the season.
Ledbury currently sit in ninth-place in the table, having gained 21 points from 13 games up to this point.
Hereford on the other hand sit further down the table and will feel the threat of the drop even more than Ledbury, on 17 points with just one side sat below them.
They played the side below them in the table in their most recent game, running our 36-12 victors over Whitchurch. In their only game prior they also played Edwardians, and recorded a less favourable result - losing 52-8 to the high-flying side.
A win would spell Ledbury's third successive victory and would set them up well for their following eight league games following for the remainder of the season.
The game kicks off this Saturday (December 4) in Hereford.
