TOWN crier William ‘Bill the Bell’ Turberfield joined the Ledbury Marie Curie Cancer Care fund-raising team as they took to the streets in search of donations.
And the day was a great success, with generous shoppers opening their wallets to the tune of £700.
People of all ages were delighted to see Bill in his traditional costume as he chatted happily and posed for photographs.
Ledbury team chairman Bruce Foster said: “It was heart-warming to see so many people wearing the distinctive daffodil pin badges and the funds raised will go towards Marie Curie nurses, who provide vital care to terminally ill patients in their own homes or in our hospices, while offering support to their families.
“We extend our thanks to everyone who so kindly stopped and gave money to the charity, especially when it was very cold and windy weather.”
