IT has been a busy year for one county couple - but it was made slightly easier when they won a dream wedding reception.

Tiffany Wheble, 30, said she 'couldn't believe it' when husband-to-be David Neilands, 28, called to let her know the pair had won a Hereford Times competition.

The prize was a dream reception at the Inn on the Wye in Goodrich, which was worth almost £3,000.

The Gorsley couple first met through a friend three-and-a-half years ago, and got engaged while on holiday in May this year.

Tiffany said: "David proposed to me on a beach in Cuba as the sun was setting. I couldn't believe it was happening but it was amazing and a really nice surprise.

"I suppose it isn't a traditional wedding as we are having a civil ceremony rather than a church wedding, but it should be really nice.

"We started planning the wedding and had already booked a venue as we completely forgot we entered the competition. I was driving when David called me to let me we had won and I was just completely shocked - we can't wait for the big day to arrive."

As well as having a wedding to plan, the couple are also renovating a house in Tewkesbury. Both agree the prize will be an "amazing help".

David said: “I am really excited about our big day and winning the competition will save us a lot of money. We look forward to organising everything with Kay and Roger at the Inn on the Wye - it's a great venue.”

Tiffany, who works in sales and marketing in Tewkesbury, and David, a photographer, will tie the knot on June 7 next year.

Although they haven't decided where to go for their honeymoon yet they said it will be somewhere "warm and relaxing".

The winning platinum package includes exclusive hire of the venue's Goodrich Suite for the whole day, a wedding organiser on hand to help plan the day plus food, drink, and a DJ.
