A PRESTEIGNE woman is taking on the first of 14 challenges this weekend to raise funds for a Leominster infant who was seriously injured in a car crash in October.
Louise Price, aged 44, is running a series of races – a mixture of marathons and half marathons – throughout 2014 to raise funds for Freddie’s family.
The two-year-old has been receiving treatment at Birmingham Children's Hospital since the crash.
And this Sunday she will be taking on the Essar four villages half marathon in Cheshire.
"I’m really looking forward to my first race of the year. I entered this one last year but it was cancelled due to heavy snowfall. The forecast looks a little better this year," Louise said.
"Training has gone well so far, I am up to 30 miles a week, looking forward to the lighter mornings though. Everyone I know has been very supportive and the fundraising is building nicely."
Louise hopes to raise as much as possible to help Freddie’s family pay for his ongoing care.
