THE BUZZ of a chainsaw is likely to be heard quite often on a local estate, if planning permission is granted for the felling of 137 trees.
Eastnor Estate is seeking permission from Herefordshire Council to carry out the work on its estate, which a conservation area.
The plan calls for the felling of two thuyas to reduce shade on nearby beech trees and improve views.
The application also calls for the felling of 24 poplars, on health and safety grounds, due to physical evidence of rot.
Permission is also sought for the felling of 111 noble firs. This area will then be replanted, mainly with broad-leafed trees.
