THE Liberal Democrats saw off a strong challenge from It’s our County (IOC) to hold the Belmont ward on Hereford City Council.

Just 45 votes stood between winning candidate Jacqui Carwardine and her IOC rival Hen Bradshaw last Thursday.

That margin made up nearly all of the Tory vote.

I'm glad those who called this election are happy regarding the cost and turn out. There was no need for it as it's the City Council which is not perticulary political, they could have cut the cards as there will be a full election in just over 12 months.
