TWO Ronald McDonald Houses – that host families whose children are in hospital – are 'loving it', after a charity football tournament in Hereford raised more than £1,500 for the cause.

Chicken giant Cargill organised the event last Sunday, which was won by fellow food fabricators McCain Foods, and held at Hereford Lads Club.

Stuart Bailey from Cargill said: “We have been supporting Ronald McDonald Houses for a number of years in their efforts to keep families together while their children are in hospital.

This event was exciting because it was the first to bring together employees from both our Wolverhampton and Hereford locations and our customers to take part in a friendly football competition and raise more much needed funds.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities is an independent charity which provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at hospitals across the UK, including Birmingham and Bristol who will benefit from the tournament’s donations.

The charity enables seriously ill children to have their families close by when they are undergoing treatment and allows them to maintain a degree of normal family life.
