A BIKE journey always has a golden end for two fund-raising and sports mad friends.
Last Friday, June 6, they rode through Newent on the UK Gold Post Box Challenge.
The cycle challenge, to visit selected Gold Post Boxes throughout the whole of the UK , is being tackled by Lucas Magor, whose mum Frances lives in the Newent area, and Chris Britton, to raise funds for various charities.
Mr Magor Lucas) has already climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa for charity and hopes to raise funds for Paralympics UK, Sport Relief 2014 and the Tree of Hope, a charity for children with severe medical problems.
He is being supported all along the route by his friend Chris Britton who also acts as the mechanic and breakdown man.
The challenge is due to finish in Hull on the June 28 after visiting all the home nations of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Frances Magor, Lucas' mum, is their route supporter and organiser.
