A TOWN councillor took to gardening this week to counteract the bad feeling caused by vandalism in Ross-on-Wye.
The market town has suffered a spate of vandalism in the last few weeks at the skate park, the flower beds by Pendeen Surgery and to the outdoor gym equipment outside the Tudorville and District Community Centre.
Town councillor Hannah Lerego and her 11-year-old daughter Olivia decided to spend several hours weeding and removing rubbish and glass from a flower bed on Copse Cross Street.
She said: "I felt as a new town councillor it is important to show people that with a little time the town can slowly be tidied up.
"I don't want our town to be defined by negative press and mindless vandalism. I want the wider community to see we take pride in our town."
She thanked Designer Flowers in Gloucester Road who offered to refill the flower bed.
Cllr Lerego hopes businesses will choose to sponsor various flower beds in Ross.
