A HEREFORD fitness instructor is preparing to spend 10 hours on his bike to raise money for two causes close to his heart.

Olly Kitching, 28, will lead and complete 10 back-to-back spin classes on Saturday November 28 to raise money for St Michael's Hospice and Leukaemia Research.

The Spinathon is in memory of Mr Kitching's father who died from leukaemia in 2011 aged just 52.

Ten 45-minute classes will take place on the hour every hour starting at 7am with the final class starting at 4pm.

Mr Kitching said: "Fitness was a good thing for me to focus on after he [my dad] passed away and I enjoy cycling so became a spin instructor.

"I have since competed in triathlons and half marathons and am currently in training for the Manchester Marathon in April, Liverpool Triathlon in August and will complete my first Ironman Triathlon in September 2017."

The spinathon will take place at Fownhope-based Wye Leisure, where Mr Kitching works, in the centre's new studio which opened earlier this year.

It will cost £5 per person for each spin session and there will also be a raffle and an opportunity to make donations on the day.

To book a place on one of the spin sessions or to make a donation call Wye Leisure on 01432 860860.
