A MAN who was thrown out of a city centre pub has been ordered to complete an alcohol treatment course.
Adam Wetherhead of Elm Road, Credenhill pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place and two charges of obstructing an officer in their execution of duty.
Lesley Ashton, prosecuting at Hereford Magistrates' Court, said on February 28 police were called to The Kerry in Hereford.
Wetherhead, aged 20, had been thrown out of the pub and had become verbally abusive to door staff and they had restrained him on the floor.
Police tried to put him in a police car but he refused to put his legs in.
They then had to carry him to a police van and again he refused to put his legs in. He then kicked out at officers and they eventually used CS gas.
Chris Read, defending, said his defendant said there was no reason for him to be kicked out of the Kerry, which is why he reacted the way he did.
Magistrates gave Wetherhead a nine-month community order with a 20-day rehabilitation activity requirement and a four-month alcohol treatment requirement. He was ordered to pay a £30 fine, court costs of £135 and a victim surcharge of £60.
