CAMERA crews are set to visit Hereford Cathedral to film two recordings for the BBC's Songs of Praise show.

The show features traditional hymns and popular choral music as well as uplifting stories of faith from around the UK and beyond.

The popular programme has previously visited Hereford Cathedral – where people have visited to worship for more than 1,300 years – but this is the first trip in recent years.

The recordings are lined up for Easter Monday (April 17) and each will be led by Songs of Praise presenter Pam Rhodes.

She will be telling the stories behind the hymns and sharing some of the secrets of making the long-running BBC series.

The first recording will take place between 2.30pm and 5.30pm and the second will take place between 7pm and 10pm.

A rehearsal is also set to take place on Thursday, April 6 between 7.15pm and 9.45pm at the cathedral.

Admission will be by free ticket and people can apply for these by visiting bbc.co.uk/programmes/profiles/2VlV9xRbxDKkvT7ZSfHV6cb/hereford-cathedral where they will find a ticket application form. This should be e-mailed to songsofpraise@bbc.co.uk

The form can also be posted to Songs of Praise Tickets (Hereford), 1st Floor, Dock House, Media City UK, Salford, M50 2LH.

If the event becomes oversubscribed tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-served and/or a pro-rata basis.

The deadline for all ticket applications is Tuesday, April 4 2017.
