THE NHS trust providing healthcare services in Herefordshire has issued a reassurance to patients and their relatives that it is business as usual.
Wye Valley NHS Trust was not affected by the cyber-attacks affecting a number of NHS trusts across the country last week but has taken precautions, in line with guidance from NHS England and NHS Digital, to protect its IT systems and ensure services were uninterrupted throughout the weekend and into this week.
Jon Barnes, Wye Valley Trust’s Chief Operating Officer, said: "Staff on duty during the weekend worked extremely hard to ensure a consistent service for all patients."
All patients should attend scheduled appointments this week as normal.
Patients may experience minor delays at clinics during the early part of the week as paper based records may be used by some departments whilst systems are being fully restored.
The trust added that it appreciates the patience and understanding of patients and their relatives during this time.
