SOME of the finest food and drink from the county was on show during a busy inaugural summer food festival in Kington.

There was plenty on offer to try and buy at the event on Saturday including olives and artisan breads, cheeses and chutneys, gin and fudge – and everything in between.

Already famous for its winter food festival, it was the first time traders had taken to the town's streets for a smaller summer event.

And, with a lively atmosphere, quality products and plenty of visitors, it has been hailed a success.

Organiser, Pam Peek said: "It was a free event which was all about encouraging people to come into Kington.

"It was about quarter of the size of the winter festival but as it was the first one we were pleased with how it went."

There was also live music and plants from local nurseries.
