PUPILS and staff at Colwall CE Primary School are delighted to have moved into their new building this week.
Head Helen Webb said that everyone was thrilled to be able to leave behind the temporary buildings that have accommodated the school since September 2014.
The school was forced to move out of its original building at Colwall Green because of a major problem with damp.
When the problem was investigated, it was found that it would be uneconomic to try to fix it, and Herefordshire Council authorised expenditure of about £6.5 million on a brand-new school for the village.
Mrs Webb said: "It's an absolutely beautiful building. The children are just overwhelmed. We've got eight classrooms for seven classes and the nursery, and a library right in the heart of the school. There's a massive hall as well.
"After years in temporary buildings, it's just great to have moved in to our new building."
The school has been holding open evenings this week for parents and other local residents to inspect the new facilities.
