SHAWBURY UNITED 1, BROMYARD TOWN 0
BROMYARD Town's youngsters acquitted themselves well in a 1-0 defeat at Shawbury United in the West Midlands League Premier Division.
The visitors lost Rob Woodward after 20 minutes with a hamstring pull following a good start. But they controlled the rest of the first-half and created chances only for poor finishing to again let them down.
After the break, Bromyard still looked like scoring and, with 15 minutes remaining, Craig Malins and Tony McLean combined well but the latter's shot was saved.
Bromyard's new keeper Nick Garth looked like he would keep a clean sheet after a superb debut. But a defensive error in the 81st minute gifted Shawbury the winner.
New signings Wayne Lloyd and Nick O'Connell also had excellent debuts.
