Many thanks to all who contributed to the success of last weekend’s (27th to 29th January) Ledbury Big Breakfast celebrating a healthy start to the day and Ledbury and district’s riches in local food.

Sixteen local food businesses – Hotels, cafes, pubs and delis - provided the widest range of breakfasts of all sizes from the lightest to the “super heaviest” for those who chose to “eat out”. Local butchers, delis and the Country Market had local favourites for those who fancied a breakfast at home.

You could feast all weekend on different versions of a Full English breakfast but there was much more on offer including Eggs Benedict, Florentine and Royale. You could try Veggy hash with egg and kale salsa, devilled kidneys, a plant-based “Not much room” breakfast, pancakes, Italian Shakshuka and so much more to suit all tastes and appetites.

The High Sheriff of Herefordshire Sarah de Rohan, Town Mayor Phillip Howells, Town Clerk Angela Price, Mark Lister from the Ledbury Food Bank, Tony Hodder and members of Ledbury Food Group celebrated the event with breakfast at the New Market House Cafe, followed by visits to some of the businesses taking part. The High Sheriff also visited the Ledbury Food Bank.

On Saturday, the busiest day, Mayor Howells visited more businesses in Ledbury to thank them for taking part. On Sunday a number of cafes were open for those who fancied a special Sunday or Family breakfast.
