LEDBURY RFC centre George Wallin has been wearing the England shirt in recent weeks after representing the England South West Counties U20s side.

The South West U20s have played two games as a group; beating The Midlands on the first weekend and suffering a narrow loss to The North on Sunday.

Ledbury posted this on Facebook: "Well done to George Wallin on his recent appearances for the South West u20s over the last couple of weekends. Victorious on the first weekend against the Midlands and a narrow loss against the North last Sunday. Lots of learning and a great experience."

Wallin has been a regular for Ledbury first team in the past year and played a pivotal role in the 22/23 season which ended with silverware in the North Midlands Shield final.

Wallin was representing Gloucestershire County in the England set-up after impressing in the trials and earning a spot in the squad.

But after his England exploits, Ledbury will be hoping Wallin will return in fine form for his club side when the new season kicks off.

Ledbury are already back in pre-season training ahead of the 2023/24 campaign that kicks off in September.

Ledbury will remain in the Counties 1 Midlands West (South) division and their first game of the season will be against Droitwich, who were relegated from Regional Midlands 2 West following the conclusion of the 22/23 season.
