RARE photos of Ledbury are among an archive of aerial shots from years gone by which has just been made available online.
The new website, Britain From Above, has been set up by English Heritage to showcase more than 15,000 aerial images of the UK dating back as far as 1919.
Among them are two of Ledbury and three of Eastnor Castle. Former Ledbury mayor Keith Francis said: “They're quite amazing. You see how undeveloped Ledbury was in 1921 compared to now. You can see the Master’s House, which is surrounded by gardens, instead of car parks.
The outline of the Ledbury to Gloucester railway is very clear, and how undeveloped it is around there.”
The pictures of Ledbury also show St Michaels and All Angels Church, the Market House, and the clock tower of the library.
The website is at britainfromabove.org.uk
