BRAIN injury charity Headway benefitted from more than £2000 raised during an event at the MSA British Championship meeting at Shelsley Walsh hill climb.

Will Hire Ltd, the tool and equipment hire company of Lye in Stourbridge, hosted a luncheon for clients, staff and invited guests at the venue and managing director Will Gough, explained: “As a regular competitor in speed hill climb motor sport myself, I thought it would be a unique opportunity to welcome our clients and guests to the prestigious MSA British Championship meeting here in this famous and historic venue in the beautiful Teme Valley.

“Most of these guests have never attended an event like this before and the feedback has been simply brilliant, so we are delighted that they could enjoy the spectacle, savour the atmosphere, meet the drivers and look at the cars close up in the paddock before watching the high octane action on the hill.

“As we had the marquee set up we also arranged a fundraising event last night for Headway, based in Worcester, which raised more than £2,000 for the very worthwhile charity, so that is a bonus.”

Charity committee member Keith Webb, added: “The Headway charity in Worcester was facing possible closure as its kitchens were not up to the relevant standard so a campaign is underway to raise money to create a new and totally professional kitchen for them and we are grateful to Will and his team for supporting this project so well.”
