I WOULD like to congratulate Will Richards, one of UKIP's councillors, for getting an agreement that this summer, in addition to the regular brass bands on Sundays in Priory Park, an extra hour will be added onto the time allowed to give younger musicians an opportunity to show their talents.

Interest has already been shown by a jazz band, a solo female singer, and a couple of pop groups. Come on, Malvern schools, this is your chance to show what you can do!

This is the sort of initiative which should be encouraged as it costs little but gives youth an alternative to just staying in on a Sunday afternoon and, at the same time, provides a further attraction for visitors to and residents of Malvern to enjoy a pleasant afternoon in the sun.
