A FORMER Kidderminster Harriers player gave a football coaching session to Wolverley CE Secondary School’s gifted and talented footballers.

Ian Foster, who racked up many years’ experience as a well-respected footballer with the Kidderminster team, took time out from his busy schedule to deliver the coaching to staff and pupils from years seven and eight.

During the session, he shared his knowledge and professional sporting tips with the students who were thrilled to learn ball control from such an inspiring and knowledgeable professional. They also participated in activities to develop fitness, awareness and confidence.

The school’s motto is ‘Ambition Unlimited’, so they are dedicated to encouraging all students to aim high and strive for excellence in all their pursuits. Having successful professionals visit the school is just one of the ways that they demonstrate their commitment to developing young talent.

Bryn Thomas, head teacher at the school, said: “It was such an honour to have Ian Foster come to our school and coach our students.

“It was a great opportunity for the students to learn footballing skills from such a well-respected and highly skilled sportsman. It was extremely motivating for everyone involved and gave the students a real morale boost.”
