A STOURPORT care home is launching a weekly group to help residents get fit and lean in 2017.
The team at Ravenhurst Residential Care Home are inviting the community to kick-start a healthy year with weekly health and well-being meetings at the home.
The sessions launched this week (January 18), and will take place at the home every Wednesday between 6pm and 7pm.
Visitors can join the team for informal sessions, to discuss healthy recipes and share diet and exercise tips.
The sessions will cost £1 - which will go towards the home's residents' activities fund. Tea and coffee will be served each week.
To kick-start the sessions the team, with the help of Ravenhurst's residents, prepared delicious fruit smoothies to make sure they were getting their fruity five-a-day.
Carla Siwicki, the home's activities leader, said: "Lots of the team here were keen to get really fit this year so we decided what better way to stick to it than by getting local people along to join us so we can offer each other advice and moral support."
For anyone wishing to attend the sessions, the address is 21 Lickhill Road North, Stourport, DY13 8RU.
