JUST three matches survived the weather in the McDonald’s Worcester and District Football League with waterlogged pitches causing the majority of the postponements.
In the games played, Powick Reserves won 6-1 at Hangover in Sunday Division Three.
Sean Smith cracked a hattrick for Powick with Oliver Roberts, Tom Yardley and Simon Mole also on the scoresheet.
Meanwhile, the league have announced the format for the Saturday division cups this season.
The top five clubs at the end of the year, Powick, WCT Raiders, Arrow 2000, University of Worcester and Malvern Town Reserves, will battle it out for the Baylis Cup.
The remaining five, VBL Sports, Foregate, Malvern Hills, Worcester Anchors and Malvern Vale, contest the Phipps Cup.
Matches will be on a roundrobin basis with the top two in each competition meeting again in the finals with one at Malvern Town’s Langland Stadium and the other at Pershore Town on dates to be arranged.
