LEDBURY Town returned to action with a 0-0 draw at arch-rivals Bartestree in a West Midlands Football League Division One Herefordshire derby.
Their last game was a 2-0 defeat at St Martins on January 25 due to the extended period of wet weather.
Chilly conditions and strong cross-winds at Bartestree provided a challenge but Paul Mann’s side forced a handy point with a determined display.
A Tom Boyle free-kick was well saved by the home keeper before 17-year-old prospect Elliot Watts responded with a fine stop at the other end.
Ledbury included new signing Ryan Jones, who was signed in the morning from their opponents, and finished the half strongly with defender Tom Watkins and forward Dan Herbert going close.
The second period saw Bartestree hit the post but that was as close as either side came to scoring as tempers rose on occasions.
Ledbury dropped a place to 12fth in the table ahead of tomorrow's visit to Shenstone Pathfinders (3pm).
Meanwhile, Ledbury reserves returned to Herefordshire League Division One action with a 1-1 draw at New Street against Orleton Colts thanks to Sam Dixon's penalty.
Karl Lancett’s side host Wellington Colts tomorrow (2.30pm).
