VICKY Holland secured her second Commonwealth Games medal for England in Glasgow with mixed triathlon relay gold.
The ex-Newent Community School pupil, 28, joined Alistair Brownlee, Jonny Brownlee and Jodie Stimpson in a dominant win ahead of South Africa.
The event involved each athlete completing a 250-metre swim, six-kilometre bike and 1.6km run.
Holland, who won individual bronze, admitted being in the same team as the Brownlees brought pressure as well as opportunity.
“It puts you in a fantastic position because you know you’ve got the best two guys in the world on your team,” she said. “But equally it adds to the pressure because you don’t want to mess up.”
Holland added: “I’ve come away with a Commonwealth bronze medal but I’m still potentially the fourth best girl in Britain right now.
“I’m sure Non (Stanford) and Helen (Jenkins) will be back in the mix next year to contest those spots for Rio 2016 and I’m going to have to step up again from this.”
