UNLUCKY Ledbury Town suffered a second consecutive West Midlands Football League Division One home defeat.

They are second-from-bottom after two games following the 2-1 defeat to Shenstone Pathfinders at New Street.

Ledbury have a third consecutive home game against St Martins tomorrow (3pm).

Having lost 3-1 to Penncroft, they produced an improved display but could not add to Bryan Sewell’s 59th-minute penalty.

League debutant James Loader was called into action in goal to prevent a Shenstone opener.

Anthony Bradford was denied by keeper John Miller at the other end, while newcomer Jasper Alford impressed and crossed for the same player to fire wide.

But Ledbury left themselves wide open on the wings and the visitors took advantage to open the scoring in the 38th minute.

The hosts struck back with Alford hitting the bar and Ledbury exerted second-half pressure, levelling through Sewell’s spot-kick after Zac Blood was fouled.

Blood, Asten Griffiths and Alford were denied by Miller as Ledbury went for the winner.

But Shenstone had their moments and an effort was ruled out for offside before they grabbed a decisive second goal.
