MANAGER Les Jones has challenged Malvern Town to collect 12 points from their next four West Midlands Football League Premier Division matches.

Sixth-placed Town are unbeaten in their last four games and host 16th-placed Dudley Town at the HDanywhere Community Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

Jones believes Dudley will prove a tough test for his troops, particularly after a 5-0 home drubbing by Pegasus Juniors on Wednesday.

Town will be without injured duo Bryan Craven and Phil Harris, while midfielder Joe Leighton is also unavailable.

“Dudley will be another challenge for us,” said Jones.

“They are perhaps not as good as last season but we think it could be a tough game.

“We are doing quite well and are unbeaten in four games, having won three of those matches.

“We start a run of four leagues games against teams in and around us in the league table after doing well against the top sides.

“Our aim is to win the next four league games and, if we can do that, we will be in a really pleasing position in the table.”

Malvern’s scheduled league match at high-flying Gornal Athletic last weekend was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Gornal lost top spot as a result with Sporting Khalsa, who still boast five games in hand on their rivals, taking over by beating Cradley Town 3-0.

Malvern’s last match was a stunning 7-0 thrashing of Black Country Rangers on January 24.

Town will be travelling to Midland League Premier Division side Alvechurch next Thursday in a re-arranged Worcestershire FA Senior Urn semi-final tie (7.45pm) after the game was postponed on Tuesday night.

Malvern also travel to Littleton later this month for the second leg of the Worcester Royal Infirmary Cup semi-final after romping to a 5-1 victory in the first clash.

Jones added: “Our target is to finish in the top six, which will secure a place in next season’s FA Cup and get to a cup final.

“We are in two cup semi-finals and are sixth in the table so we are keeping up with our initial target.”

Meanwhile, Town’s under 21s head to Sikh Hunters in Division Two tomorrow, while second-placed Powick Rangers host Warstone Wanderers (both 2pm).

Runaway Division One leaders Bromyard Town visit Worcester Raiders (2pm).
