Here at Dene Magna secondary school located in the heart of the forests of dean, some students are hard at work fundraising to allow them to complete their Japanese exchange trip.

After a group of Japanese students visited our school here in the Forest after many weeks of contact between the students and their hosts. Many of the students involved in the exchange formed life-long friendships with their exchange partner and so are extremely excited to meet again when the Dene Magna students visit Japan in the summer.

Currently Dene Magna students involved in the exchange are working really hard to fundraise for the trip. Recently students have run krispy kreme doughnut sales, sold roses to give out through both the student body and to show appreciation to teachers and other staff. Many students used these flowers to give gifts to friends and to show their gratitude to teachers in the school.

The Krispy Kreme sales are a big hit in our school and usually sell out in minutes. Quite often after a sale the recycling bins will be full of krispy kreme boxes because all the school friend groups band together and buy a box to share between them.

All the students here at Dene Magna are so excited for those who are going to see their friends later this year and so proud for all the amazing fundraising they have done. All the luck in the world to the Dene Magna/Japan exchange students from all the students at Dene Magna.
